Adam Harnett

Rising artist Adam Harnett recently became a fellow Newfoundlander abroad, moving to Quebec City to pursue his musical career.

The 24-year-old Harnett possesses a remarkable clear head and lives each day to the fullest. Fittingly, his debut single is an upbeat rock song entitled 'Tomorrow's Too Late,' with a message to go for the things you believe in. This is the lead off single from his album called 'If Time Permits,' which is being recorded and released independently.

“If time permits,” Harnett says, “I’ll get a chance to write more music, perform more, and travel to foreign places. I want to live a long and happy life, and share my music with people.”

A strong personality and a gift for melody are present in Harnett’s music. His voice is deep, expansive, and calm. His guitar rhythms are modern and have rich, powerful hooks. These elements have been mixed with traditional rock beats that audiences have known and loved for years.

‘Tomorrow’s Too Late’ was tracked by Vaughn Rowsell (Vaughn’s Recording Suite), mixed by Jonathan Wyman (This Sounds Good) and mastered by Adam Ayan (Gateway Mastering), whose credits include: Bob Marley, LeAnn Rimes, Martina McBride, & Rush, to name a few. Guest musicians include bass player Byron Pardy (Irish Descendants), and drummer Greg Clarke (the Cobblestones).

• Other interesting tidbits:

In September 2003, Adam won an award for excellence in youth leadership at Rural Expo 2003 held in Gander NL. It was his first meeting with Newfoundlander and CTV personality Seamus O'Regan and since then the two have kept in touch. In a speech at the Rural expo Seamus made reference to Adam being a person that will help change the way people see Newfoundland…someone to watch out for as making an impact across Canada.

Adam also operates an online magazine called Webifex Magazine, about visual design and music. Over the past year he's tried his hand at journalism and interviewed other artists just as Jag Tanna (I Mother Earth) and James Black (Finger Eleven).

We’ll certainly have to keep our eye on this Newfoundlander!
