About the Artist - Dave Hoddinott
Dave Hoddinott was born and grew up in Newfoundland on Canada's East Coast. Working mainly in acrylics, Dave is best known for his dramatic light-filled landscape paintings. A recent article about Dave's artwork says "If the hand of the artist captures what he sees in his mind's eye, the mind of Dave Hoddinott is bathed in light and built in symmetry. In an age that operates on the clock, Dave paints an outlet that freezes the simplicity and beauty of everyday scenes, sharing what he sees with the viewing world".

Talking about Newfoundland, he says: "The Landscape is so dominant, the ocean, hills, sky and even the unique architecture, around every corner is another rich image to be put to canvas".

Dave has always sketched and painted even as a young boy. "I always had a pencil and paper in my hands everywhere I went". He has been exhibiting his paintings in group and one man shows since 1982 and has won several awards for his artwork. His paintings and prints are in many corporate and private collections throughout Canada, the United States, and Europe.

Today, Dave lives and paints in St. John's, Newfoundland, considered to be the oldest city in North America....."Even though you are in the city, you are only minutes from the ocean and countryside. It's a wonderful place to live and raise your children."

About the Artwork - "Bringing it Home" Limited Edition 9,900 signed and numbered
The history of team sport in Newfoundland and Labrador was forever changed at this year's Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy, when a team of young curlers from home captured our hearts and imaginations by winning Canada's first ever Olympic Gold Medal in men's curling.

This incredible achievement is now immortalized in a limited edition print so that all those who shared the joy can also share the memory.

Reknowned local artist David Hoddinott has wonderfully recreated the essence of Team Gushue's unforgettable Olympic performance in "Bringing it Home".

Mr. Hoddinott brings together three memorable moments of their Gold Medal performance in this artistically dramatic print; Mark Nichols 'shot heard around the world', Skip Brad Gushue's emotional call to his mother, and Team Gushue on the podium at the Gold Medal ceremony.

For the first sixty days of the offering, this limited edition of 9,900 prints will only be available to residents of Newfoundland and Labrador. And as an additional fitting tribute to Brad's mother, a portion of the proceeds from all the prints sold will go to the H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Cares Foundation.

"Bringing it Home" is a piece of sport history that every Newfoundlander and Labradorian would be proud to own, and that no Newfoundlander and Labradorian should be without. To add value to your piece of history, all prints have been individually signed by all members of the Team Gushue Gold Medal Champions Rink.

Published from the original painting in the acrylic medium and produced on 100% neutral pH paper. Each print has been inspected for accuracy of colour before it os signed and numbered by the artist. The edition is limited by destroying all files and plates.
